The World Cookbook Fair to be staged at Frankfurt in 2015

The Frankfurt Book Fair and the World Cookbook Fair have entered a long term agreement to strengthen the international food and wine publishing community

Juergen Boos and Edouard CointreauFrankfurt, 15 December 2014 – Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair (14-18 October 2015), and Edouard Cointreau, Vice President of the World Cookbook Fair have signed an important long term agreement for the food and wine publishing industry. They have agreed to work together to bring the very best publishers and authors of the culinary sector to Frankfurt, the largest book trade fair in the world, in 2015.

Juergen Boos said “This cooperation fits perfectly into the Frankfurt Book Fair’s strategy to empower relevant publishing communities and help our customers to expand their international business network. It also shows the enormous potential that the ‘New Frankfurt Book Fair 2015’ will offer its clients. Our aim is to establish the Gourmet Gallery in Hall 3.1 as an internationally recognized hub for the culinary publishing business. In the future we will continue to do two things. The first is to grow the existing German aspect of the Gourmet Gallery, and the second is to develop its international area with our colleagues from the World Cookbook Fair, who are proven experts and trusted companions in the global business of food and wine publishing.”

Edouard Cointreau said “My father started the World Cookbook Awards twenty years ago in Frankfurt. This is where I learned all about publishing, never missing a fair for 10 years. We want everyone in our sector to share the unique opportunities offered by the Frankfurt Book Fair and we will do everything we can to help visitors and exhibitors have the best experience possible there. In 2015 we will focus our energies entirely on the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, and we will have no other cookbook fair in Europe next year. We will however keep the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2015 in China, where my father is based right now.”

At the next Frankfurt Book Fair, there will be special services for visitors from the international culinary community at the Gourmet Gallery, including a business center, an events and conference programme, presentations for books and future projects, exhibitions, and a show kitchen. The Gourmet Gallery will remain in Hall 3.1. located next to the tourism publishers.

The Guests of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair in the next two years will be Indonesia (2015), The Netherlands and Flanders (2016). They have vibrant food cultures, and will be warmly welcomed at the Gourmet Gallery. For more information, contact Edouard Cointreau (son): This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
